Rokita Believes Every Life Is Worth Saving
SOUTH BEND — At a press event in South Bend this morning, Indiana’s umbrella pro-life organization, Indiana Right To Life, endorsed Todd Rokita surrounded by members of the organization.
“Todd Rokita is the pro-life choice for Attorney General,” said Indiana Right to Life PAC chairman Mike Fichter. “We have absolute certainty that he will strongly defend Indiana’s pro-life laws in the courts, including future laws as well as those laws already being challenged in the federal courts.”
“Saying you are right-to-life is not just a slogan, it is an important founding principle in our nation,” said Attorney General nominee Todd Rokita, “Our Declaration of Independence said we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among those are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” are important words. And for a large majority of us that means we must value life from conception until a natural death.”
Rokita added, “For my wife Kathy and I this is not just an abstract concept, it is real life. We have two sons, Ryan and Teddy. Our oldest son Teddy was born with Angelman Syndrome. Teddy cannot speak, does not walk well and has an intellectual disability. We know that God gave us Teddy. We truly believe he will change the world for the better in his own way, he has for us. We love him. We believe every life is precious and deserves to be cherished and protected.”
